Dental Implant Options for Missing Teeth in Dallas
Lifelike, natural-looking teeth replacement options
Dental implants are the most lifelike and durable option for missing teeth. They look, feel and function just like natural teeth, and with adequate care and maintenance can last a lifetime. They can be used to support a single crown, a dental bridge or a denture.
Because of recent technological advances in dentistry, most people can now receive dental implants. Below are our dental implant options.
Dental Implants to replace a single missing tooth
The doctor places a dental implant to serve as a replacement root for a missing tooth. A connecting piece known as an abutment is placed on top of the implant and supports a dental crown.
The implant-supported new tooth looks, feels and functions just like a regular tooth. Patients have said they cannot tell the difference between the implant tooth and their regular, healthy teeth.
Mini-dental implants are smaller in size than standard-sized implants and are sometimes an economical alternative in your implant treatment. They can be used for placing implants in very small spaces and sometimes can function to support a denture. Dr. Ovadia or Dr. Tanur can let you know if mini-dental implants are an option and will happily answer your questions.
Where multiple teeth in a row are missing, Dr. Tanur or Dr. Ovadia can place a series of implants to support a dental bridge. A series of implant-supported bridges can even be placed to replace an entire dental arch.
Implant-supported bridges provide nearly the same chewing and biting power of regular teeth and are the most durable replacement option for an entire arch of missing teeth. Our doctors also make sure your bridges look completely natural.
Implant-Supported Snap-On Dentures
The most economical way to replace an arch of missing teeth is to use implants to support new dentures that will snap onto the implants and can still be removed. The implant has a specially designed attachment that snaps into a receiving piece on the underside of your denture and keeps your denture securely in place.
Your implant-supported removable dentures will have between 40% and 60% of normal biting and chewing power. You won’t need the usual adhesives and will not have the pain and discomfort that results from unsupported dentures rubbing against your dental arch.
Current denture stabilization
If you are wearing dentures currently, it is sometimes possible for the doctor to place a series of implants in your arch and retro-fit your current denture so the implants and your denture will snap together and provide added support.
New Teeth in One Day
This is an affordable solution to replace a dental arch with fixed new teeth. If you are missing all your teeth, or need an entire arch of teeth replaced, the doctor can place four to six implants in your arch to support new fixed-in teeth.
Your new teeth will have between 85% and 90% of the biting and chewing power of regular teeth. These teeth are non-removable, look very natural and do not have the false palate on the roof of your mouth that dulls your sense of taste.
